Pitor Residents Welcomed Habema’s Social Communication With Enthusiasm

Aifat Timur Tengah Maybrat – One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 501/Bajra Yudha Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Maybrat Regency, Papua Barat Daya Province. On Monday, 2 December 2024, the 501 Task Forces, especially the Faankahrio Post led by First Lieutenant Rahman, and some Community Figures of the Aifat Timur Tengah District, especially from Pitor Village, conducted Social Communication (Komsos), while performing the areal security task. This Komsos aims to foster trust and cooperation between the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and the local community to support the Indonesian Government’s program of accelerating the development of the Papua region.

In his emphasis on the TNI Soldiers, the Commander of 501 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Yakhya Wisnu Arianto, conveyed the importance of the Task Forces’ attention to the basic necessities of the community around the Post. For this reason, the Post has conducted observations of the area’s condition around the Post to obtain actual data related to all activities carried out during the task. Based on the observations, the Post Leader conducted Komsos with some Community Figures at the Faankahrio Post.

This Komsos activity was carried out to discuss coordination and cooperation efforts between the Task Forces and residents to secure a series of simultaneous Regional Head Election activities in the Aifat Timur Tengah District. After the meeting, one of the Community Figures, Matius Fatemyo, expressed his gratitude by saying, “Thank you, Commander 501. We are happy that TNI is helping the Papuan people. God bless.”

After receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, acknowledged the 501 Task Forces’ initiative to conduct a social communication with some Community Figures from Pitor Village. His words: “The 501 Task Forces’ initiative is a testament to TNI’s commitment to conduct inclusive social communication with all stakeholders to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region.” This acknowledgment from the highest authority in HABEMA underscores the significant impact of such initiatives on the region’s development. It instills profound hope and optimism about their potential to shape the region’s future positively. It makes the Task Forces and the community feel recognized and appreciated for their efforts.
